Albion are on the brink of ending their quest to sign a winger by landing Jamie Murphy from Sheffield United.
The Scot is set to join the Seagulls for a fee of around £1.5 million.
Murphy, 25, has been on Albion's radar all summer.
The Argus understands they have beaten off competition from two other Championship clubs who also agreed a fee with League One promotion favourites United for the former Motherwell man.
The deadline has passed for Murphy, who can play on either wing or through the middle, to be involved at Fulham tomorrow.
Providing there are no last minute hitches with the deal he will be in contention for his debut at Huddersfield on Tuesday.
