Nathan Jones is convinced Albion will make full use of their squad.

But the first team coach has praised the early-season regulars for the form which has made them impossible to leave out.

The Seagulls have eight ever-presents in Championship action as they prepare for their eighth game of the season at Wolves tomorrow.

Apart from the two wings, all positions have been settled since Uwe Huenemeier came in for Lewis Dunk for the second league game of the season.

That has left others to wait on the bench - and play an important role late in games in some cases, notably Rohan Ince.

The focus on their settled line-up is timely given that they face a Wolves side which has shown regular changes already this season.

They did not have a midweek game due to fixture congestion in West London, with Chelsea’s Champions League fixture against Maccabi Tel-Aviv taking priority over the league game at Fulham.

But boss Kenny Jackett has made regular changes in the six games to date, be they enforced or of choice, as he strives to find a winning formula.

Jones has been around for long enough to know the twists and turns which await.

The first of them was safely negotiated when man-of-the-moment Kazenga LuaLua picked up a one-game ban, costing him his ever-present status.

Jamie Murphy came into the side and stole the show against Rotherham.

Jones said: “It has not been anything magic. It has been our recruiting work.

“If you are doing well you stay in the team.

“We have a fantastic squad but we are going to need everyone.

“We have assembled a squad we think is competitive. It fits in with everything that we do.

“It fits in with our budget, with our ethic and with our environment.

“I guarantee you, we will use the full squad to the full extent.

“Someone like Kazenga has to miss out because of suspension and it represents an opportunity for someone else.”

Bobby Zamora is among those waiting for his chance.

But Chris Hughton’s stance on the former Spurs and England striker is simple.

The longer Albion can go without needing him to play a massive role, the better they will be doing.

Short of match fitness, Zamora was not signed for the first ten games. But he could be of massive importance in the last ten if Albion’s season remains on track.

Jones said: “Bobby has settled in like we knew he would.

“We do our homework. We didn’t have to do so much with Bobby because I know him.

“But it’s not just Bobby.”

The goalkeeping situation sums up Wolves’ early season issues.

Jackett cannot decide on who is his best bet so Carl Ikeme and Emiliano Martinez, on loan from Arsenal, have had three league games apiece.

Jones suggested in the run-up to LuaLua’s absence against Rotherham that he would probably have been kept out of a game at some stage anyway.

His fifth yellow card made the decision for the management.

Uwe Huenemeier’s continuation in the side after his early exit at Ipswich backs up Jones’s point about players staying in the side if they perform.

Albion felt the German had played well generally in the first half at Portman Road and Huenemeier has since revealed Hughton had told him there and then not to worry about being taken off.

One exception to that rule has been on the right, where Liam Rosenior played very capably against Ipswich and Hull but was taken out of the side when Albion wanted a more genuine right winger against Rotherham.

Jones said: “They are all chomping at the bit because it’s a competitive squad. With how we’ve started, people want to play.”
