Albion boss Chris Hughton has not ruled out adding at least one loan signing to his squad in the final hours of the window.
Hughton is concentrating on striker and left-back cover for "longer term" injury victims Sam Baldock and Gaetan Bong.
Speaking three hours before the deadline, he said: "We're working as hard as we can and looking at all the options.
"At this moment if we can do something and it's right then we will do but we've got a very competitive squad and if it ends up with the squad we've got now that's something I'd be very happy with."
Albion have been linked with Manchester United back-up striker James Wilson, who returned from injury as an unused sub in last night's Champions League draw against PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford.
Fringe midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey, back from a recent spell with MK Dons, is unlikely to be loaned out again by 5pm.
Hughton said: "I don't think anybody will be leaving."
Gary Rowett, manager of Saturday's Amex visitors Birmingham, is hoping to make two or three loan signings in the final hours of trading.
