James Fraser is joining Burgess Hill after Lewes agreed to cancel his registration.
The former Bristol Rovers forward has played just 11 times this season, scoring once, after missing a large chunk of the campaign due to an injury picked up in pre-season.
Rooks boss Darren Freeman has agreed to let Fraser go after talks with the player and he will now link up with the Hillians.
Freeman said: “It’s best for both ourselves as a club and for JJ (Fraser) as a player.
“We’ve known and worked with JJ for a long time now so it’s all very amicable and the move to Burgess Hill could be the thing that gets the spark back for him.
“It also creates an opportunity for some of the current squad to step up and it might give us an opportunity to bring in a new face, if the right player becomes available.”
