Albion will be promoted if they win at Middlesbrough on the last day of the season.
But there are still plenty of permutations to ponder after Boro’s controversial 2-2 draw at Birmingham City tonight.
January signings Jordan Rhodes and Gaston Ramirez gave Middlesbrough the result which takes them a point clear of Albion and Burnley.
But they had to settle for a third successive draw as Dani Ayala’s goal was ruled out for what looked an incorrect offside call.
Whatever happens against Derby at the Amex on Monday, the Seagulls will finish ahead of Boro with a win at their Riverside fortress next Saturday.
Tonight’s result also means Burnley will be promoted on Monday if they win at home to QPR and Albion drop points to Derby.
A win for the Seagulls over the Rams will leave them needing a draw on Teesside to go up.
Albion can lose at Middlesbrough and still celebrate promotion if Burnley slip up horribly on the run-in – but that bit hasn’t changed!
