Worthing are back in Ryman premier for the first time since 2007.

The Rebels won 3-0 at home to ten-man Faversham Town in their Ryman south play-off final at the Photronix Stadium.

A crowd of 1,889 saw Brannon O’Neill, Gary Elphick and Jordan Maguire-Drew on the scoresheet.

A miserable afternoon for the visitors was completed when Charley Robertson’s 73rd-minute free-kick was saved by Rikki Banks.

Worthing needed just six minutes to break the deadlock and in-form Albion youngster Maguire-Drew was involved again.

The 18-year-old’s whipped free-kick from wide on the right was tipped over by Will Godmon at full stretch and the subsequent corner from O’Neill went straight in, the linesman signalling the ball had crossed the line.

The visitors were reduced to ten men on 18 minutes, Luke Harvey being shown a straight red card card for seemingly pushing Will Hendon in the face after being fouled by the Rebels right-back.

The Rebels rammed home their numerical advantage six minutes later thanks to a goal from joint-manager Elphick.

Omar Bugiel met O’Neill’s free-kick with a firm header which produced a wonderful save from Godmon but former Albion centre-back Elphick was on hand to drive home the follow-up.

Worthing controlled the second half well and added a third goal with 21 minutes remaining.

Ben Pope’s shot held up and fell nicely for an unmarked Maguire-Drew to drill home from eight yards for his eighth goal in six games since joining on loan.

Faversham could have pulled a goal back on 73 minutes following a foul by Steve Metcalf on substitute Kieron Campbell but Banks got down well to save Robertson’s penalty.
