Chris Hughton is relishing a last-day showdown as his Albion side go for promotion.

And he hopes his vast experience can help play a part in the final push.

The Seagulls need to win at Middlesbrough next Saturday to finish above their rivals from Teesside.

That would give them the one automatic promotion spot which remains available after Burnley booked their Premier League return by beating QPR 1-0 today.

Albion came from a goal down to draw 1-1 at home to Derby thanks to James Wilson’s added time goal.

Hughton said: “Certainly if someone had told us that (we had to win at Middlesbrough to go up) we would have bitten their hands off.

"This is a very big challenge, we will look forward to it and do everything right this week. It will be a very tough game but an exciting game.

"I think my experience will count somewhat but the large majority is down to a group of players, how do we recover this week, how quickly can we put this behind us and put ourselves in the best possible position to win a game."
