Premier League referee Mike Dean will be in charge of Albion's £170 million promotion showdown at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The appointment of Dean will haunt Boro supporters. He took control of their defeat by Norwich in last season's play-off final at Wembley.
Dean has dished out 11 red cards and 125 yellows in 38 matches this season, 31 of them in the top flight.
The crunch clash at the Riverside Stadium will be his third Championship fixture of the campaign.
Dean was the man-in-the-middle for Albion's 2-0 win against Portsmouth at the Amex in March 2012.
His assistants, Ian Hussin from Liverpool and 33-year-old Simon Long, also have plenty of Premier League experience.
Long, on the line for the 2011 FA Cup final, has an even longer journey than Albion fans. He is from Truro in Cornwall.
