Jiri Skalak has been confirmed in the Czech Republic’s initial squad for Euro 2016.

The Albion star will travel in a 28-man party for a training camp in neighbouring Austria.

He is almost certain to be named in the final 23-man squad for France.

Skalak is a possible starter for the Czechs when they open their group fixtures against holders Spain in Toulouse.

Their build-up includes friendlies with Russia and Malta in Austria.

They then return to Prague to take on South Korea on June 5.

The Czechs are sweating on the fitness of Tomas Rosicky, who has made just one substitute appearance for Arsenal this season.

Rosicky has been playing for the Gunners’ under-21s in recent weeks and now has the chance to prove he is ready for the Euros.

The squad also includes Reading’s loan signing Matej Vydra and left-back Daniel Pudil, the Sheffield Wednesday player who consoled Skalak at the end of Monday’s play-off second leg at the Amex.
