Liam Rosenior wants to win promotion for Tony Bloom next season – because he feels like Albion let their chairman down.

The experienced defender or midfielder has been hugely impressed by the Seagulls’ chairman since signing for the club last summer.

And the moment when Bloom entered the changing room after their aggregate play-off defeat by Sheffield Wednesday topped the lot.

Rosenior told The Argus: “That was a measure of the man that he is, that he came down on such a disappointing day.

“I’m absolutely devastated for him because not only does he put his money into the club, he puts his heart and soul into it.

“Everything good that has come for this football club has come through his love for the football club.

“He came down and said how proud he is of us.

“That is really hard to hear because you always feel like you have let people down when you don’t achieve what you have set out to achieve.

“It just drives me on and motivates me.”

Rosenior has seen his previous club Hull City reach the play-off final, despite dis-satisfaction with their owners from many fans, and would love Bloom to be in the top flight with his beloved club.

He added: “I want him at this time next year to be planning a Premier League season.”
