ALBION will have to pay to get Glenn Murray back.

The Seagulls face forking out a seven-figure fee if they want to re-sign the striker from Bournemouth.

Murray remains on the wish list after Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe thwarted attempts to land him this season.

Howe blocked Albion’s efforts to borrow their former marksman after Christmas in the push for promotion from the Championship.

Murray, who scored 56 goals in 136 games before moving to Crystal Palace in 2011, is understood to still be keen on a return.

The move to Bournemouth has not worked out and Callum Wilson’s recovery from serious knee damage has nudged him further down the pecking order with the Premier League Cherries.

Murray lives locally and his son attends Albion’s academy, but Bournemouth will not let him go for nothing after splashing out around £4 million only eight months ago and awarding him a lucrative three-year contract.

Albion and any other interested parties would have to weigh up an absence of re-sale value in a deal for Murray, who will be 33 in September.

The Seagulls are intent on replenishing their strike force following the release of veteran goalscoring legend Bobby Zamora and the return of on-loan James Wilson to parent club Manchester United.
