Dermot Drummy wants his Crawley strikers to stay where they are more dangerous this season.

And that is firmly in central areas.

The Reds head coach will predominantly play 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 but he will also urge his men to be flexible.

Drummy told The Argus: “We can mix it up. It depends what opposition we are playing.

“I might play with a 4-4-1-1 if we have got two similar No.9s. I might play with a false No.9 if I’ve got two No.10s.

“I like wide players and I like our centre-forwards to be in a central position. I don’t want them running in channels.”

Drummy wants his side to be strong in the middle of the park.

He added: “I always play three in the middle and I always try to play out from the back.

“It’s for everyone to watch and see and come up with their own idea of what formation it is.

“I definitely rotate and move players around. We don’t just play a static system.

“We have an identity I want to create but that will never stop me changing and evolving it.”
