LITTLE Sam Baldock is walking tall after heading Albion up to third in the Championship with his third goal in as many games.

The striker nodded the only goal early on against Wolves at the Amex last night as the Seagulls chalked up their fifth win and fifth clean sheet of a seven-match unbeaten run.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "I think Sam would probably be the first to admit his heading is probably not one of his best traits but the goal was more about the desire to get across the defender.

"I'm pleased for him, because he always works hard. He's been good for us. Sam has responsibility to tuck in, because it's very difficult to keep two strikers high up the pitch."

Albion had to withstand a late rally as Wolves threatened a repeat of Preston's last-gasp equaliser at the Amex on Saturday.

Hughton said: "That can always happen if you don't kill the game off, which we had opportunities to do, but we were up against a good side. I think Wolves will do well this season.

"They have got a lot of power and pace and are able to make changes to the team. I think it's a really good result for us."

Captain Bruno limped off deep into the second half and Lewis Dunk is suspended for Saturday's trip to Wigan following his fifth booking late-on.

Connor Goldson replaced Bruno at right-back, his first league outing of the season. Hughton said: "That's why you try to have the options we have. Connor and Uwe (Huenemeier) both had good periods in the team and are both ready.

"We'll find out whether it's just a bit of fatigue with Bruno. I'm not sure yet. With a competitive player like Dunky at some stage he was going to get to five. We just have to make sure that we cope with it."

Albion are three points behind leaders Newcastle and two adrift of Norwich. Huddersfield, below them on goal difference, are at Preston tonight.
