Jake Foster-Caskey's ten-year association with Albion is over.

The midfielder has joined Charlton for an undisclosed fee following the termination of his season-long loan move to Championship rivals Rotherham.

Youth team product Forster-Caskey made only six appearances for Rotherham and does not feature in Chris Hughton's first team plans at Albion.

He links up again at Charlton with Karl Robinson, the manager he played under during two loans spells with MK Dons last season.

Hughton said of the 22-year-old former England under-21: "There is no doubt Jake has a promising future in the game, but at this stage of his career he needs to be playing regular first team football.

"With the form of our midfielders, we are not in a position to offer that, and opportunities at Rotherham United were also limited, so a move to Charlton represents a chance for Jake to play more regularly under a manager he knows well.

"On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to wish him all the very best for the future, and thank him for his efforts while here."

Forster-Caskey became Albion's youngest-ever player when Gus Poyet handed him his first team debut at the age of 16 against Yeovil at Withdean in 2010, a week after he had to get permission from his head teacher to travel with the first team to MK Dons.

He made 64 starts and 18 substitute appearances for the Seagulls, scoring nine goals.

He also had a six-month loan spell with Oxford United in the first half of the 2012-13 season.

Forster-Caskey represented England from under-16 level through to the under-21s, for whom he was capped 15 times.
