Liam Rosenior came through his first full 90 minutes since recovering from an ankle operation as Albion under-23s went down 2-1 to Nottingham Forest at Alfreton Town in the Premier League Cup last night.

The Seagulls were on the back foot after just five minutes when Rob Hall was sent off for bringing down Elvis Otim in the area and although Robert Sanchez saved James Thorne’s spot-kick the striker scored from the rebound.

Albion levelled with eight minutes to go when Jayson Molumby was fouled in the box and George Cox converted the penalty but Nicolao Dumitru grabbed a winner in the final minute.

It was Albion's first defeat in the competition following wins over Forest, West Ham and Leicester City.
