Boss Chris Hughton has urged target men Tomer Hemed and Glenn Murray to continue their hot scoring form to fire Albion to the Premier League.

They have 25 goals between them in the Championship after Hemed netted twice in the 4-1 home win over Burton Albion and Murray came off the bench to head his 16th of the season.

Hemed replaced Murray in the starting line-up following his last-gasp equaliser at Brentford.

Hughton said: “They are our two top goalscorers and we need them to keep scoring goals for us to be where we want to be.

“Tomer was there on merit. He’s scored goals. It’s never difficult decisions for me providing I’m doing it for the right reasons. I just thought Tomer has been scoring goals of late, he’s looked sharp.

“Having said that, Glenn’s contribution at Brentford was very good. He worked very hard for the team but sometimes, particularly with strikers and wingers, it’s never any harm leaving them out for games, refreshing them and giving them an opportunity to come on and make an impact.

“You can’t start with the same four players all the time, two strikers and two wide players.”

Newcastle are back on top, a point above Albion, after winning 1-0 on Saturday evening at Wolves.

Huddersfield are six points behind the Seagulls in third following their fourth victory in succession at QPR.

Albion host Ipswich tomorrow night, Newcastle go to Norwich and Huddersfield to Rotherham.
