Jamie Murphy believes the gameplan worked as Albion punished Reading on counter raids.
The Scottish winger scored one and teed up another as the Seagulls completed their 3-0 success at the Amex.
Both second-half strikes came on a incisive counter attacks.
Murphy said: “Reading are a good side but sometimes when they go forward they leave spaces.
"We worked on countering that and we got a couple of goals from that, which is great.
"It’s always nice to see what you have been working on during the week come off on a Saturday.
"The gameplan worked perfectly.
“We keep our shape, make it difficult for them and, when they make the mistake, we counter off that.
“It’s what happened with two of the three goals.”
