Premier League referee Lee Mason has been put in charge of Albion’s game at Leeds.
The Lancashire-based official will ref the Seagulls for the first time since their 2-2 draw at Derby midway through last season.
Although he has mainly worked in the top flight this season, Mason dipped into League Two in midweek for what turned into a feisty promotion six-pointer between Carlisle and Nathan Jones’ Luton.
His only previous Championship outing this season was for the local derby between Fulham and QPR.
Mason was in the headlines two months ago when he controversially ruled out a volley by Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Manchester United at home to Middlesbrough for dangerous play.
