Uwe Huenemeier has told of his delight at another Albion clean sheet.

The German defender believes the Seagulls gave goalkeeper David Stockdale great protection in the 1-0 defeat of Blackburn.

Rovers did not register a shot on target although Stockdale had to tip over a corner which might just have dropped inside the far post.

Huenemeier produced perhaps his best performance of the four starts he has made since coming back into the side after Shane Duffy fractured a bone in his foot.

The ex-Paderborn skipper said: “I felt really good. In the first half I thought I won a lot of headers and made some good blocks.

“The second half was a bit less work for me but you have to always be aware. They can always produce out of nothing.

“They sent on another big man (Sam Gallagher) and you have to challenge him. He was quite good in the air.

“But I thought all in all we defended well.

“Stocko didn’t make a lot of saves so that is a good performance by us.

“It is always good to keep clean sheets.”

Albion have now kept clean sheets in more than half their league games this season – 20 out of 39.
