Tony Mowbray has revealed how he warned his Blackburn side about the movement of Glenn Murray.

Albion’s top scorer scored the close-range goal which sent Rovers to a 1-0 defeat at the Amex.

He produced an expert piece of movement in the six-yard box before a control and neat finish for his 19th of the season.

Former centre-back Mowbray said he had spoken about what to expect from Murray in the days leading up to the game.

The Blackburn boss said: “It was one lapse of concentration. Defensively we didn’t track a runner, which cost us.

“A defender needed to stick with his man.

“We talked about Glenn Murray this week. One of his strengths is he is always on the move in the box.

“He’s physical, he uses his experience, he uses his body very well.

“If we had just tracked him across the six-yard line we would probably have seen the trouble out - as we did for the rest of the game.

“I don’t think they peppered our goal.”

Scottish international defender Charlie Mulgrew was the man who failed to track Murray – and who also played him onside.
