Albion boss Chris Hughton has backed Glenn Murray to keep on scoring in the Premier League – providing he gets the service.

Murray, 33, has bagged 22 goals this season to fire the Seagulls to promotion.

Hughton told The Argus: “Somebody like Glenn will always be a goalscorer.

“Is it easier to score goals in the Championship than the Premier League? Of course it is. A team at the top of the division, you’d like to think are going to get more opportunities.

“But goalscorers don’t change, it’s really about the service and being in games, so yes he can score goals, but he’s reliant on a team to give him that ammunition.”

Murray has been on target in the top flight for former clubs Crystal Palace and Bournemouth against Manchester City (twice), Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

He said: “I think everyone looks towards playing the big clubs but it will be the whole season in general. It will be fantastic for the supporters. It’s just great for the club to be in the top division, one of the best divisions in the world. Hopefully we can stay there.”
