Bruno has not given up on his dream of leading Albion to the title.
The Seagulls skipper believes today’s 1-0 defeat by Bristol City summed up the competitive nature of the Championship.
His side can still clinch the crown at Aston Villa by matching Newcastle’s points haul in their game at home to Barnsley.
Bruno said: “It's mixed feelings - really happy because we went up and really disappointed we didn't get the title today.
"They had one chance and they scored but the way we played wasn't our style.
"It has been an unbelievable season but we wanted a trophy.
“Next week we have got another chance and we will fight for that.
“We were working all week and we are really disappointed.
“But that’s football, that’s the Championship.”
