Albion fans will enjoy the bright lights of the Premier League next season – quite literally.

The playing surface at the Amex will be illuminated by a new LED lighting system among upgrades costing £5 million to prepare the six-year old stadium for the top flight.

Brighter lighting is the one change which will affect all fans attending home games.

Many of the improvements will only affect media members while some supporters will take advantage of a new restaurant planned for the East Stand.

Players, the management team their families and guests will be treated to an improved lounge.

Albion executive director Martin Perry will oversee the improvements.

He said: "The project team have a huge amount of work to undertake to ensure the stadium is ready for Premier League football next August.”

Improvements for the media will include a new gantry, a new television studio in the South East corner and improved interview and press conference areas to cater for increased interest in the club from this country and abroad.
