Albion misfit Elvis Manu has been axed by Dutch loan side Go Ahead Eagles for neglecting them to back his first club Feyenoord.

His temporary move has been ended early after club chiefs spotted posts from Manu on social media supporting Feyenoord before Eagles’ relegation-confirming defeat by Ajax.

They accused the striker of “unprofessional conduct” and said the posts led them to believe he was “not fully focused on our crucial game”.

The incident is the latest controversy involving Manu, who has scored twice and been sent-off twice in 14 outings for Eagles since joining them in January.

He was also axed and fined by Huddersfield Town for a breach of club discipline during a loan spell with the Yorkshiremen last season.

Manu, 23, has made only 14 appearances for Albion, ten of them as a substitute, after arriving from Feyenoord for £1.5 million in the summer of 2015.

He still has a year left on his contract but has no future at the Amex.

Albion would be willing to let the enigmatic Manu go on the cheap to bring to an end his unhappy stint on the south coast.
