Albion are set to add teenage Celtic defender Josh Kerr to their development squad.
The 19-year-old will join for an undisclosed fee when the transfer window opens on June 10. He has agreed a two-year contract.
Kerr helped Celtic win the SFA Youth Cup and appeared against Barcelona and Manchester City in the UEFA Youth League but came up just short of a senior debut for the unbeaten Scottish champions.
He can operate anywhere across the back line.
Albion development boss Simon Rusk sees that versatility as an asset.
Rusk said: “We are looking forward to welcoming him into the squad for pre-season and hopefully he can push on and challenge for a place in our first team.”
Leicester City, Leeds and Burnley were all reported to be very keen on Kerr recently.
He is one of several hot properties developed by the Parkhead outfit in recent times.
The youngster spent a four-month spell with fourth-tier side East Kilbride between during the 2015-16 season.
