Shane Duffy is ready to fly to the USA on international duty, despite being involved in a minor car accident.

The Albion defender will leave Dublin with the squad tomorrow ahead of the friendly against Mexico at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey at 8pm on Thursday – or 1am on Friday our time.

It could be his first action since fracturing a bone in his foot almost three months ago when the Seagulls lost to Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile the FAI have confirmed both Duffy and colleague Eunan O’Kane were involved in “a minor car crash” on their way to today’s training session.

The statement: “The two players have now reported safely to the team hotel in Dublin.”
