David Stockdale has played a blinder – by reuniting a man with his wallet.

The Albion goalkeeper is sending the lost possession to its owner via recorded delivery after finding it at Malaga airport and launching making good use of social media.

Stockdale appealed via Twitter for Gerard Flynn of Cork, or anyone who knew him, to get in touch after finding the wallet last night.

The owner was tracked down too late to receive the wallet before returning home.

But Stockdale told followers today: “People of twitter. Found the owner and will be sent recorded delivery.... thank you great people of Ireland also... #helppeoplehelp”

His bulletins were met with replies from Albion fans urging him to sign a new contract offered recently by the club.

And there was also feedback from the Leeds fanbase, who would like to see him United with his home city club at Elland Road!
