PROMOTION winner Gaetan Bong has revealed he could not turn down the chance of Premier League football.
Now the Albion left-back is eyeing a battle against old friend Eden Hazard after agreeing a new one-year deal.
He joins Dale Stephens as an out-of contract player putting pen to paper on new terms.
Seagulls boss Chris Hughton hopes David Stockdale, Steve Sidwell and Niki Maenpaa will follow suit.
Bong said: “I could have looked for something else but I couldn’t turn down the chance of playing in the Premier League.
“We were fighting for two years to arrive there and now I just want to enjoy it with the boys.
“I like the manager. He’s a great man and I just want to fight for him and help the club stay in the Premier League.
“He knows I’m always ready to fight. I’m not somebody who talks too much, I just come in and do my job, and he knows that.
“He knows who I am and he wants to give me a chance to play in the Premier League.”
Bong was close to Hazard when they were in northern France, playing for Valenciennes and Lille respectively.
He added: “I don’t know if he’ll be at Chelsea, but if he is still there, I’m telling him ‘I’m coming, I’m coming’.”
