Solly March is ready to have a ball next season – after allaying fitness fears.

The Albion winger set the Premier League era rolling in Brighton by unveiling the top flight’s new football.

Then he told fans he expects to be fit for pre-season despite an England setback.

As revealed at theargus.co.uk yesterday, March has made himself unavailable for the nation’s under-21s as he recovers from a heel problem.

He has been in the running for a place at the European Championship finals, for which the squad will be named next week.

But he has no doubt more rest will have him up and running by the time Albion get back to work ahead of the Premier League season.

March told The Argus: “The main thing was to get ready for next season and to rest it now.

“It should be all right for pre-season. Another month or so of resting and it will be fine.

“There was a bit of bone bruising and a risk of getting worse if I played on any longer.”

March was star guest at the city’s first Premier League event as children at the Crew Club in Whitehawk got to try out the new Nike Ordem V ball before the stars.

They were taking part in one of Albion In The Community’s popular free football sessions.
