Novak Djokovic was the star attraction at Eastbourne over the weekend as he prepared to play at Devonshire Park for the first time.

The three-time Wimbledon winner looked relaxed as he met the boys and girls who will be on ballboy duty throughout the event yesterday afternoon.

The World No.4 accepted a wild card and is the top seed in a field which includes Gael Monfils, John Isner and Steve Johnson as the men’s event returns alongside a stellar women’s line-up for the Aegon International.

Djokovic, who has a bye in the first round and will face either Jiri Vesely or qualifier Vasek Pospisil, drew a big crowd on Saturday when he warmed up on the practice courts.

It’s the first time the 12-time Grand Slam winner has slotted in a grass-court event between Roland Garros and Wimbledon since 2010.

The women’s field features eight of the world’s top ten – including Eastbourne’s own Johanna Konta.
