PASCAL GROSS wants a quick reunion with Markus Suttner as Albion’s first summer signing settles into English football.

The capture of German No.10 Gross from relegated Bundesliga club FC Ingolstadt was announced by the Seagulls in May.

They are keen to add Gross’s former Ingolstadt team-mate Markus Suttner to the squad for their debut season in the Premier League.

Austrian international left-back Suttner, 30, is eager to sign a three-year deal but Ingolstadt are thought to be holding out for double Albion’s offer of around £2 million.

Gross said: “Sometimes I talk to him (Suttner). He is a very good player and I would be happy if he can come.

“I’m very pleased to be here. I think it’s a great club with very good facilities and a nice new stadium.

“I was in contact with Paul Winstanley (head of recruitment) more than a year ago. He showed me how much the club wanted me. I looked at the club and the facilities and the Premier League and I think it’s very good for me to be here.

“When you grow up in Germany the first dream is to play in the Bundesliga. I’ve done that and it was another dream to play in the Premier League.

“It’s one of the biggest leagues in the world. I’m looking forward to playing my first game. It would be a dream to play in that first game against Manchester City.”

Gross and his new team-mates begin pre-season training on Monday after two days of testing at the training complex in Lancing.

The 26-year-old playmaker has already visited Brighton and is aiming to repay manager Chris Hughton’s faith in him playing a pivotal part in Albion staying up.

“I’ve seen some nice restaurants and coffee shops,” Gross said. “I’ve also been to Brighton Pier with a friend and that was fun.

“I would say No.8 or No.10 is my best position, offensive but also working without the ball, creating chances. That’s the way I play.

“I can assist and also score goals, good with left or right foot, and I can run a lot.

“Last season I scored three penalties out of three. I’m a good penalty-taker. Germans always are!”

Albion head to Austria next Saturday for a week-long training camp and friendly against German side Fortuna Dusseldorf on July 14.

“I’ve been to Austria with German teams,” Gross said. “They have good facilities and food. It will be perfect for getting in shape.”
