Albion boss Chris Hughton is not surprised Tomer Hemed has attracted transfer interest.
But he has reiterated the Israeli striker is going nowhere.
Hemed scored his second goal in as many friendlies in Saturday’s 6-0 victory at Crawley.
The Seagulls have rejected a reported £4 million bid from Reading for the former Almeria marksman, who is in the final year of his contract.
Hughton told The Argus: “Tomer, if anything, has come back in really good shape. I thought he was good again.
“If I’m looking at the options we’ve got at the moment, particularly with Sam Baldock being injured, we’ve got two out-and-out strikers, Glenn (Murray) and Tomer. We need everyone that we’ve got.”
The Seagulls turned down bids last summer for Dale Stephens, Anthony Knockaert and Lewis Dunk before winning promotion.
“It’s probably testament to what these lads have achieved in the two plus years I’ve been here,” Hughton said. “There has been interest in our players and the only reason for that is because they’ve done well, so it’s never a surprise.”
