Albion's preparations for Manchester City’s visit to the Amex next month go up another notch at Norwich tomorrow.

Boss Chris Hughton’s return to Carrow Road (3pm) launches the second half of the Seagulls’ pre-season programme.

It is their final warm-up against English opposition before back-to-back friendlies against Spanish La Liga sides Girona and Atletico Madrid.

Albion have scored 11 goals without reply against Fortuna Dusseldorf in Austria, Crawley last Saturday and Southend on Tuesday.

Hughton said: “You could almost take the six pre-season games in two blocks.

“Maybe not so much Dusseldorf, our first opponents, but with all due respect to our last two opponents Norwich is a step up. Girona is a very good level and Atletico a very, very good level, so we are getting closer and we’ll treat it accordingly.”

Hughton divided his squad on Tuesday between the game at Southend and behind closed doors against Crawley at the Lancing training complex.

“Tuesday worked out a really good day,” he said. “It enabled all of the first team players to get really good minutes under their belt and there were no problems from that. There are no additional injuries for the squad I take to Norwich.”

The Canaries’ final friendly before their Championship campaign gets underway marks the official unveiling of new German head coach Daniel Farke.
