Bruno is set to collide with former team-mate David Silva against Manchester City at the Amex on August 12.

Silva has yet to feature in City's pre-season tour of the United States.

The 31-year-old Spanish maestro has been struggling with a groin injury and is behind in his fitness levels.

But City boss Pep Guardiola expects playmaker Silva to recover in time for the clash against Albion.

Bruno's first season at Valencia, after Unai Emery his former manager at Almeria re-signed him, was spent in the company of Silva before he moved to the Etihad.

Albion's right-back will be hoping to have Anthony Knockaert in front of him for the test against City.

The French winger is battling to be fit after suffering ankle ligament damage ten minutes into the Seagulls' opening pre-season friendly against Fortuna Dusseldorf in Austria.

Sam Baldock also faces a race against time to be ready to stretch a City defence that will be without recent big fee capture Benjamin Mendy.

Baldock has yet to feature in Albion's pre-season programme following summer calf surgery.

Full-back Mendy, bought by City for £52 million from Monaco, will be missing with a thigh muscle injury. Guardiola said: "We don't want to take a risk because he is so explosive."

City's full-backs at the Amex look like being Kyle Walker, signed from Spurs for £45 million, and Brazilian Danilo (£26.5 million from Real Madrid).

City have so far this summer spent in excess of £200 million on Walker, Danilo, Mendy, Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson Moraes and Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva.
