Albion midfielder Beram Kayal has suffered another big injury blow.

The Israeli had surgery today on a broken fibula, sustained in Sunday's friendly against Atletico Madrid.

The EIGHTH op of Kayal's career will keep him out of Albion's debut season in the Premier League until November.

Boss Chris Hughton, speaking ahead of Manchester City's opening visit to the Amex on Saturday, said: "We've had some bad news on Beram Kayal, who came off at half-time in Sunday's game.

"It's a small break in his fibula, which was operated on today. We expect him to be out for something like eight to ten weeks.

"It's bad bad news for us and him. The only good thing is it's a clean break, so there are no complications."
