Glenn Murray isn’t bothered by criticism of Premier League defending.

He just wants Albion to work as hard off the ball for the rest of the season as they did against Manchester City.

The Seagulls striker hopes to get a first start of the season today in a division where life is made easy for the goal-getters, according to a lot of analysis last weekend.

He is more concerned about what Albion do – and what he felt they did well against Manchester City.

Murray told The Argus: "You jump on the defending because there's been a lot of goals but everyone likes a lot of goals.

“The important thing for me is that we defended well.

“I didn’t watch a lot of football over the weekend - but all we've got to worry about is ourselves."

He added: “We lost a game against a very good team and I'm sure we'll lose plenty more against good teams.

“It's not something we've got to accept but we've got to get used to it to an extent being in this division now.”

"The club isn't used to not winning games in the past two years, so it's something we need to accept is going to happen and not let it get us down."
