Liam Rosenior shrugged off the disappointment of dropped points – and said Albion are improving.
The experienced full-back felt his side deserved to win at Watford.
They twice hit the post, either side of stand-in home left-back Miguel Britos being sent off.
They also had penalty appeals waved away as the contest headed towards a 0-0 draw.
Rosenior, who went on for Bruno at half-time, said: “Obviously we are disappointed not to get all three.
“During the course of the game, even before the sending off, I thought we were by far the team that was dominant.
“The good thing is how dominant we were. We went on the attack from the first whistle away from home.
“Okay, we didn’t get the goal we deserved but the performance levels were there.
“If we perform like that for the rest of the season, we are going to achieve what we want to do.”
Albion have their first point after opening with 2-0 defeats to Manchester City and Leicester.
Rosenior added: “The first two games of the season are two of the hardest fixtures in this league.
“We then went to a Watford side full of confidence – they beat Bournemouth away and they took Liverpool all the way – and we have dominated the game.
“That is something to push on with.
“We have got things to improve on but, at the same time, we can be delighted with our performance. It’s just the final bit.”
