ALBION could wait to let their Greyhound out of the traps – as Chris Hughton shrugs off transfer window disappointment.

The Seagulls boss is weighing up whether to throw his one permanent signing from deadline day into a debut against West Brom.

But he could offer jet-heeled ex-Sporting right-back Ezequiel Schelotto, dubbed El Galgo or The Greyhound, more time to acclimatise.

Hughton said: “He’s available. We are still probably assessing him where he is because of the games he would have played and what he missed in pre-season.

“But he’s very close and will be part of the squad.”

Albion also secured goalkeeper Tim Krul on loan from Newcastle on deadline day.

But Mathew Ryan was back at training yesterday after international action in Australia and will start.

Hughton saw hopes to add at least one striker dashed but said: “You probably, once the window closes, don’t speak about disappointments.

“You have to be happy with the squad you’ve got.

“We brought in seven players. It’s common knowledge we wanted a different type of striker but we weren’t able and it’s important to concentrate on what you’ve got.

“We certainly move on and take the challenges on with the squad we’ve got.”
