Former Albion transfer target Raphael Dwamena has been fitted with a heart reading chip.

The FC Zurich and Ghana international striker's £10 million move collapsed during the transfer window when the Seagulls' rigorous medical checks indentified a heart condition.

Dwamena has undergone further tests in Switzerland during the last fortnight and is set to resume training with Zurich tomorrow.

The 22-year-old said in a message posted to friends: "Glory to God. Just stepped out of the hospital! Everything went well and I will start playing God willing on Monday.

"The heart reading chip has implanted around my chest. I will play with it for some weeks and they will take it out.

"God is Good and he holds our future. He knew why he closed this transfer. I believe he's not done with me yet in Switzerland. Thanks a lot for your prayer and love."

Albion were furious after Ancillo Canepa, the Zurich president, branded them "amateurish and unprofessional" last month as Dwamena's move was abandoned.

They use MRI scans when a problem is highlighted by initial testing and a top specialist to review the results.
