Chris Hughton says his spell at Newcastle made him a better manager.
Albion boss Hughton steered tomorrow's Amex visitors to the Championship title in 2009-10 before he was dumped early from the Premier League the following season.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley (below) admitted in a recent interview he was treated very unfairly, but Hughton has no regrets about the way his time on Tyneside ended.
He said: "From the moment I left I have very rarely spoken about it and have always wanted to look forward.
"What I have done is used that as really good experience, the three years I had there, and it was not all as a manager. I certainly feel it has made me a better manager."
Hughton was popular with Newcastle supporters and is pleased he is still received warmly by them.
He said: "There's the professional side of the game but also the emotional side of the game and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, especially the promotion we managed to get.
"They were good times and I see and speak to a lot of Newcastle supporters on my travels and generally the reception is very good."
