Beram Kayal celebrated his Albion comeback in style at the Amex tonight.

The Israeli midfielder equalised nine minutes into his return from injury in a 2-2 draw for the under-23s against ten-man Blackburn Rovers at the Amex.

Kayal, sidelined by a broken leg since the closing friendly against Atletico Madrid in August, scored a cracker from 20 yards before a pre-planned departure after an hour.

Striker Sam Baldock (below), missing since the end of last season following summer calf surgery, also played for 60 minutes.

The Argus: He went close several times to joining Kayal on the scoresheet in an eventful match.

Blackburn centre-forward Joseph Nuttall struck twice in the opening ten minutes either side of Kayal's effort, the first after keeper Tim Krul spilled a cross.

The visitors had Willem Tomlinson sent-off on 41 minutes for a tackle on Jiri Skalak.

James Tilley levelled with a cross-shot (51), but Albion could not find a winner.

Liam Rosenior, keen to move into coaching and management when his playing days are over, was in the technical area alongside academy chief John Morling, with coach Simon Rusk away on a Pro Licence course.

Albion (4-2-3-1): Krul; Mateju, Hutchinson, Kerr, Cox; Collar, Kayal; Tilley, Alzate, Skalak; Baldock.

Subs: Sanders for Kayal (60), Connolly for Baldock (60), Moore for Kerr (79), Sanchez, Ahannach.
