ALBION striker Sam Baldock showed his finishing prowess on his second comeback outing after injury.

Baldock scored in a second successive 2-2 draw for the under-23s against Middlesbrough at the Lancing training complex today.

Boss Chris Hughton decided it was too soon into Baldock's return from calf problems to include him on the bench at the London Stadium against his former club West Ham tonight.

He rediscovered his goal touch instead to fire Albion ahead with a crisp finish into the roof of the net from a James Tilley pass midway through the first half.

Baldock and broken leg victim Beram Kayal had their first outings back in Monday's 2-2 draw for the under-23s against Blackburn at the Amex.

Kayal scored in that one and the Israeli midfielder joined Baldock in the line-up again to get more minutes under their belts in the quest for a return to first team contention.

Keeper Robert Sanchez was forced off with a leg injury in the first half.

Boro equalised on the hour straight from a corner by Lewis Wing, which beat Sanchez's replacement Billy Collings.

George Cox restored Albion's lead in the 67th minute with a penalty after Jiri Skalak was brought down.

George Miller levelled from the spot in the 91st minute to deny Simon Rusk's side a first win in six games and avert a second successive defeat for Boro after they opened the season with six straight wins.
