BOSS Chris Hughton believes there is more to come from Albion hitman Glenn Murray after his two goals at West Ham.

Murray marked his first 90 minutes of the season with his first goals in the 3-0 romp at the London Stadium.

Last season’s leading marksman has been plagued by an ankle problem in the early part of the Seagulls’ Premier League campaign.

Hughton told The Argus: “For him it’s great confidence. He’s been out for a period of time and it’s been difficult for him.

“He did great, 90 minutes, but he’s missed a lot of football.

“He can’t be fully up to speed yet and it’s our responsibility to get him through the next few weeks.”

Murray’s double maintained his menace against the Hammers.

The last time he scored twice in the Premier League was against them for Crystal Palace in February 2015, when he was also sent-off.

Murray said: “On a personal note I am very happy. It’s been a very stop start to the season, frustrating for me, but now I feel as though I’m up and running.”

Tomer Hemed is available for Southampton’s visit to the Amex on Sunday (1.30pm) following a three-match ban.

Sam Baldock, yet to figure so far this season because of calf trouble, had two outings in the under-23s last week.

Hughton said: “We want competition and, with Tomer back for the next game and Sam having played two games now, it gives us good competition up front.”
