David Moyes tasted defeat in his first match in charge of West Ham
Albion have dropped a place to ninth in the Premier League after a losing start for new West Ham manager David Moyes.
Watford moved above the Seagulls with a 2-0 win over the Hammers at Vicarage Road.
Albion will reclaim eighth spot if they beat Stoke at the Amex tomorrow night, and open up a nine-point cushion over the relegation zone.
Goals by former Derby County midfielder Will Hughes and Brazilian Richarlison mean West Ham remain in the bottom three, six points adrift of Albion.
