Albion boss Chris Hughton expects his side to learn from a third Amex draw in a row against Stoke.

The Seagulls conceded twice at home for the first time since the opening day defeat by Manchester City but fought back from 1-0 down and 2-1 down in last night's deadlock.

They are now undefeated in five games, including successive away wins at West Ham and Swansea.

Hughton told The Argus: "You always think as a promoted side that points away from home will be harder to get but credit to the players. Stoke were very happy at times to defend their own half, although they've got really good quality when they break.

"It's testament to a group of lads that so far have fared fairly well but we probably learnt a lot.

"We were up against a good, solid Premier League team, a very manly team that capitalised on the strengths they've got."

Albion conceded as many goals as in their previous four matches, Xherdan Shaqiri catching out the defence with a sublime ball over the top for Maxim Choupo-Moting and Kurt Zouma restoring Stoke's lead in first half stoppage time from a poorly defended corner, straight after Pascal Gross had equalised.

Hughton, happy with a point, said: "You have to be realistic. I didn't think we were at our best. We made a couple of errors, particularly for the first goal, which is a little bit uncharacteristic of us, but these things will happen against good teams.

"I'm probably more disappointed with the second goal, having worked so hard to get back in the game and then so quickly for them to get a corner and score from it."
