Bruno has told Albion to produce the perfect game if they are to take some reward from Old Trafford.

The Seagulls aim to extend their unbeaten record to six games against a Manchester United who have not been defeated on home turf in 38 matches.

Bruno believes his side must improve on the ball and defensively after the 2-2 draw with Stoke on Monday.

But he reckons they can rise to the big occasion.

Bruno told The Argus: “We need the perfect game. We need to be really solid, we need to run.

“If there are periods when we can have the ball, we have to try and keep the ball.

“That is going to be our game. We are looking forward to it.”

Bruno was pleased with the endeavour Albion showed to twice come from behind against Stoke.

He said: “Stoke are a really good team and we take the point.

“But maybe we have to improve with our patience with the ball.

“We came back and that is the most important thing.

“We will try to do the right things, get something and play our football.

“We know about United’s qualities, their pace, their players but, in the end, it is 11 against 11.”

Opponents turned team-mates turned opponents again: Bruno (Almeria) chases Juan Mata (Valencia)

Juan Mata has started eight of United’s 12 league games so far and was rested for last night’s European tie at Basel.

Bruno is delighted to see his former Valencia team-mate and close friend back in favour.

He said: “I’ve been talking quite a lot with Juan and I look forward to seeing him again.

“I think he has shown his character.

“He has been through tough times but he was just speaking on the pitch.

“It’s just working hard, waiting for his chances and, when he had chances, he took them.

“He is a really professional player and, as we know, his quality is unbelievable.”
