Albion boss Chris Hughton is poised to rotate his squad to cope with a punishing schedule.

The Seagulls have seven games in 24 days between today's journey to Huddersfield and the New Year's Day visit of Bournemouth.

The 'Magnificent Seven' includes trips to Wembley, Stamford Bridge and St James' Park to face Spurs, Chelsea and Newcastle.

Four Albion players - midfield duo Davy Propper and Dale Stephens, central defender Lewis Dunk and goalkeeper Mathew Ryan - have played all 1,350 minutes so far in the Premier League.

Hughton, asked if rotation is coming, said: "Yes, because of the volume of games. In the Championship there were games where you could not be at your best and still pick up points. But not in the Premier League. I can see us using the squad."

The workload has been particularly hard on Propper and Stephens (below) in the absences through injury of Beram Kayal, fit-again now following a broken leg, and Steve Sidwell (back).

The Argus: Twenty-seven players have played every minute of every Premier League match. Ten of them are goalkeepers and only three others midfielders, Burnley's Jack Cork, Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure and Leicester's Wilfred Ndidi.

Can Propper and Stephens continue their ever-present records? Hughton said: "There's no reason why they can't, but we know it's a competitive game. I don't know whether that would have been any different with Beram Kayal, who was out for a period of time, and Siddy.

"I'd like to think it's probably more to do with their form. They've had little dips but overall they've been very good. But it will be a test. We have a lot of games and the competition is pushing."

Propper has quickly adapted to the demands of the Premier League since his £10 million move from PSV Eindhoven just before the start of the season.

He told The Argus: "I knew before I came here there was a big difference. In games in Holland I also ran a lot. That's what I am used to. Maybe the physical part and up and down (the pitch) I had to get to know.

"It's difficult to explain. Most of it is physical, the intensity. When you see the stats, how many kilomteres they run, that's a big difference."

Davy, 26, is the eldest of a Propper trio. Brothers Robin (24) and Mike (20) are central defenders back home in Holland with Heracles Almelo in Eredivise and Den Bosch under-21s.

The Argus: Propper (above, third right) said: "They are a little bit bigger, maybe have a bit more physicality. I'm more the technical one!

"We talk a lot. They want to know how it is over here and I want to know how it is going over there.

"They are doing well. Robin is injured at the moment so he is out until after the winter break. Mike is is trying to get into the (Den Bosch) first team.

"I think it's down to my parents. My father was a trainer at an amateur club in Arnhem when we were younger. He trained all three of us from a young age. We played football all the time."

Robin was sent-off recently against Davy's old club Eindhoven. "Before that he was doing well," Propper said. "The red card was cleared. He touched the back of a player's foot in a one on one situation.

"They want to make the next step. They can make a step for sure, I don't know which one, but I think they will end up a little higher."
