Albion boss Chris Hughton has targeted a return to winning ways in back-to-back home games to halt the slide towards the Premier League relegation zone.

The Seagulls are still 13th in the table but only three points above the bottom three following last night's 2-0 defeat by Spurs at Wembley, their fourth in five games.

They host in-form Burnley at the Amex on Saturday and Watford a week later.

Hughton said: "We are now, certainly results wise, going through a difficult period, but we have to accept that can happen and was always going to happen at some stage during the season.

"It's how you come through it. Hopefully we took enough positives to take into our next two games, both at home, that are going to be important for us.

"It was a disappointed changing room, which is good to see, because it means they care about it. My responsibility is to channel that into positivity going into the next game.

"Always what happens when you don't get results is it brings more pressure on the next games. To be where we want to be in this division you've got to pick up points."
