Chris Hughton admitted Albion are lacking a killer touch after they were held by Burnley.
The Seagulls had the best of the first half but had to settle for a 0-0 draw.
Boss Hughton said: “We are disappointed not to win, particularly when you have a period of the game in the first half when there was only one team in it.
"Then when you don't score in that period and you miss a penalty it gives the opposition a little bit of a lift. And Burnley are a good team.
"The positives are the level of the performance, particularly in the first half, was better. But we need to score the goals that we need to win football matches."
