Enzio Boldewijn’s double helped Crawley to a 3-2 victory over play-off chasers Accrington in League Two.

Harry Kewell's Reds were forced to dig in following the break after charging into a 3-0 lead inside 41 minutes.

Reds went ahead through Jordan Clark’s ninth-minute own goal when he turned in Lewis Young’s cross.

Ibrahim Meite’s lovely threaded pass then set up Boldewijn a minute later to fire home.

A fine individual effort from Dutchman Bodewijn on 41 minutes increased Crawley’s lead but Accrington hit back deep into first-half stoppage time when Josh Yorwerth felled Billy Kee and the striker converted from the penalty spot.

Substitute Ben Richards-Everton angled the ball home through a crowded box from a corner worked to him on the angle of the area.

Crawley keeper Glenn Morris superbly tipped over from Mark Hughes’ header in injury time to preserve the win.

Reds boss Kewell said: “I take my hat off to the boys, they were strong defensively and compact, while Glenn was excellent at the end, but you always leave yourself open and you’ve got to be able to kill teams off.”

He added: “Last week at Crewe was disappointing and we all felt it. We didn’t want a repeat of that.

“We know what we’re capable of doing. We saw some beautiful stuff in the first half and some beautiful defending in the second.”

In National League South, Doug Tuck scored in the sixth minute of added time to rescue a point for Bognor in a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Poole Town.

Tuck lashed home after Poole had taken a 65th-minute lead through Warren Bentley following a corner.

Debut-maker Gold Omotayo was on target for Whitehawk in their 4-2 defeat at East Thurrock United.

Striker Nathaniel Pinney opened the scoring for Hawks but another debutant, Nathaniel Oseni, was sent off just before the break after the hosts had fought back to lead through Sam Higgins and Ryan Sammons.

Sammons and Tom Richardson extended the lead before substitute Gold’s consolation with a well taken header.

Shaun Okojie got Eastbourne Borough’s consolation in a 4-1 defeat to high-flying Havant and Waterlooville at Priory Lane.

Theo Lewis, Jordan Rose, Wes Fogden and Matt Tubbs got the goals for Havant.
